People-pleasing tendencies at work

If you are exhausted from trying to please all people at all times, try pleasing no people at all, but base your decisions on what is good and what is true. Do not be afraid of getting fired. I wrote a while ago: rejection is information. Rejection is redirection. I am trying this advice myself and seeing massive improvement in my happiness. My dad asked me years ago: “why do you keep saying you work for person A or person B? You don’t work for A or B. You work for a company that happens to employ them as your manager.” I wanted to protest this way of thinking on the grounds that he only worked in academia and not in corporate world, but he was absolutely right. We impose mental structures on ourselves that limit our own creative potential.
